This 4x4 off-road tour was the first of its kind when
it began in 1991 and is still the best! It is designed
to show visitors the quieter parts of the island, and
to share our natural beauty and history. We provide lunch,
picnic style, under the coconut trees on the waters edge
on the south of the Island, a truly beautiful cool Caribbean
setting. Do bring along your swim gear as we finish the
day with a swim at Darkwood Beach on the west coast, one
of Antigua's most popular beaches. A stop at Body Pond
with it's lush trees and plants, some of which are used
for old time remedies. Body Pond is in the center of the
island and used to be the main fresh water source many
years ago. A rough 4 wheel drive up Monks Hill to visit
the historic Fort George with its spectacular view of
Falmouth and English Harbour. Then it's down to Cades
Bay for a picnic lunch under the coconut trees where you
can see the pelicans and frigate birds soaring along the
coast. After lunch it's time to explore the 300 year old
Kapok or Silk Cotton tree (Ceiba Pentandra) which is completely
hollow. About 20 people can stand inside! Then it's a
steep 4 wheel drive up to Boggy Peak, the Island's highest
point where you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view
of Antigua and on a clear day some of the nearby Islands.
The top of Boggy Peak is controlled by Cable & Wireless.
After retracing our steps down Boggy Peak, it's off to
