Fly the 35 miles to our neighboring island Montserrat, 2/3rds of which
was made uninhabitable when the Soufriere Hills volcano
erupted in 1997. It covered the entire southern part of
the Island in ash, rocks and hot gasses and the only way
to see it now is from the air. You will get a close look
at an active Volcanic crater, enormous valleys created
by pyroclastic flows, abandoned villages and houses and
hundreds of acres of new land.
